What is DocCheck Faces?

DC Faces is a medical network service for registered DocCheck users. Its purpose is the communication of contacts and the building-up of personal networks. Invite your colleagues, fellow students and friends. Whether private circle of friends, study group, practice team or hospital colleagues - you decide what DocCheck Faces is for you.

Who can join DocCheck Faces?

Since DocCheck Faces is a network service for expert circles and medical professionals, only activated DocCheck users can enter own profile pages. This procedure ensure that only medical professionals (physicians, pharmacists, students etc.) with proven qualifications (physician's passport, approbation license etc.) are within the network.
Here you get your DocCheck password free of charge.

How do I upload a picture?

A picture is pretty much the most important thing on your profile page at DocCheck Faces. After clicking "My profile/change" in the profile tag you can upload an image file (e.g. portrait) from your computer. This picture will be automatically scaled and fitted after clicking the "Save" button.
(Hint: Depending on the browser type, it might take a few minutes before your picture will show.)
Picture specifications:

  • Issue size: 125 x 125 Pixel
  • Graphics formats: JPG, PNG or GIF
  • Maximum size: 500 kb

Too complicated? No problem - just use our photo service free of charge:

  • Send us your picture as an eMail attachment

Who gets to see my profile data?

For each sector of your profile, you can enter who gets permission to look at your data. You can change those settings any time at "My profile". By selection menu you define for each section, which user-group has access to certain profile sections.

  • Nobody (just yourself)
  • Own contact (visible only for contacts your have confirmed)
  • DocCheck users (only for logged-in DocCheck users)
  • All users (this data is public)

Hint: Use the selection menu at "Show profile of…" ("Info-box, right column), to display how other users (e. g. "DocCheck users" or "Own contacts" will see your profile).

How do I find colleagues and friends?

Use the menu "Search" to find colleagues and friends. If they do not use DocCheck Faces yet - just invite them….

How do I expand my network?

If you call up a new profile, the link "Add contact" appears in the business card on the op right. By click you get to a form where you can enter your reasons for contact request. The other user receives an eMail message and is able to look at "My contacts" at all incoming "requests for contact".
At the push of a button, everybody decides whether he wants to accept the request for contact or reject it. Only after both sides have confirmed the contact, the mutual network connection is active and you can see each other's data as defined in the setting "Own contact".
In case you do not find your colleagues and friends by name search, you can personally invite them to your network here.

What happens with my data?

All data you have entered in DocCheck are subject to data protection. By no means, DocCheck will submit any personal data or eMail addresses of users to any third party - also not to any companies using DocCheck as an access password.
You and you alone decide who gets to know what about you. All data at DocCheck Faces can be edited with individual visibility setting. You can edit for example that:

  • The address of your office is public
  • Your business eMail address is visible to colleagues with a valid DocCheck password only
  • Your private contact data is only visible to friends ("Confirmed contacts").


DocCheck does not issue any personal user profiles informing on individual access habits of users. Should the forwarding of data be necessary (e. g. within the frame of an online study), data will be only forwarded after prior, explicit agreement of the user (see data protection).

What functions does DocCheck Faces offer?

In addition to messages and networking contacts maintained and sent via DocCheck Faces, the following enhancements are planned:

  • Integration in the DocCheck Job Market: Use DocCheck Faces, present yourself as a potential employee or employer.
  • User profile for DocCheck Flexikon, forum, newsletter, Blogs etc.: To avoid new editing and entering of your profile data, DocCheck Faces enables you to maintain a central user profile.
  • Search for a physician for DocTip 2.0: Our popular Homepage editor plus doctors' search engine will be connected with DocCheck Faces soon. You will be found by for example new patients via your business card without having to maintain your own Homepage.

9. 

Why do I need JavaScript?

To use DC Faces, you should activate JavaScript and the acceptance of cookies in your browser. You will find the settings at "edit"/"settings" respectively "internet options". Without JavaScript and cookies, some of the links might not function, form data might not get validated etc.
… and what about browser safety?
In JavaScript, some nuisances might be programmed such as for example pop-up windows. But JavaScript is no real danger since this program language does not allow order for writing on the main board or any other data carrier. Cookies enable you to log-in only once instead of each time you enter the site again. Personal settings are taken over for the next visit.

10. 

How do I delete my profile?

Just send an eMail to info@doccheck.com subject "DC Faces: Delete profile" and provide your user name. We will delete your profile no later than the next working day.
The deletion/deactivation of your DC Faces profile does not effect your existing DocCheck (respectively DocCheck Pro) access.
